Have you ever wondered who enters the cookery competitions at the Melbourne Royal Show? Heaps of people, including my wife Zoe, who this year won a coveted blue ribbon for first prize in the hotly-contested yo-yo category.

Tonight I’ll be raising a glass to 10 years of The Chase Australia, and all the crew who work so hard to make the show what it is, as well as the thousands of contestants who have stepped up for the challenge.

I’m often asked what got me so interested in trivia. I have always been intensely competitive at games and sports, and deeply curious about the world around me. Combine those two traits and what do you have? An obsession with quizzing, a sport for the brain.
